A seven‐level switched‐capacitor based transformerless inverter with modified PWM strategy to enhance the performance of grid‐connected PV systems
Sudipto Mondal, Shuvra Prokash Biswas, Md. Rabiul Islam, Md. Kamal Hosain, Raad Raad

Version of Record online: 30 April 2024

Description unavailable

This paper introduces a seven-level based transformerless inverter along with a modified pulse width modulation technique to improve the performance of a grid-tied photovoltaic system. The proposed inverter ensures voltage-boosting capability, self-voltage balancing, and low power semiconductor losses.

Investigation into active‐gate‐driving performance and potential closed‐loop controller implementations for silicon carbide MOSFET modules
İlker Şahin, Mason Parker, Ross Mathieson, Stephen Finney, Paul D. Judge

Version of Record online: 30 April 2024

Description unavailable

Switching characteristics of a Silicon Carbide MOSFET module are documented for the single-pulse active gate driving approach and compared to the conventional gate drive case. EMI suppression benefits are quantified with the use of sensors for magnetic (H) and electric (E) fields.

ORIGINAL RESEARCH

On performance evaluation of high‐power, high‐bandwidth current measurement technologies for SiC switching devices
Daniel A. Philipps, Dimosthenis Peftitsis

Version of Record online: 30 April 2024

Description unavailable

This work proposes an evaluation method for high-power high-bandwidth current sensors. This method enables the suitability assessment of current sensors for accurately measuring device currents of fast-switching silicon carbide power metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors. The proposed method employs an established frequency-domain analysis at small-signal excitation levels, but extends this to a time- and frequency-domain analysis at high switched currents at a fast switching speed to more comprehensively determine the current sensor transmission behaviour.

New resonant composite magnetic‐field probes with high detection sensitivity and electric‐field suppression ratio
Lei Wang, Hongyue Wang, Chengyang Luo, Yiqiang Chen

Version of Record online: 30 April 2024

Description unavailable

Two differential magnetic-field resonant probes, consisting of a U-shaped single-loop resonant probe (S_probe) and a dual-loops resonant probe (D_probe), are proposed.
