Efforts to combat climate change have focused on both the supply and usage of energy. Many countries have net-zero carbon emissions goals for the future. Energy generation through renewable means such as wind, solar, and hydro is a key part of the solution. This issue will summarize findings from the Reuters Events Energy Transition Insights Report, November 2023. This report identifies key investment and strategy trends driving the energy transition. Moreover, we will summarize some recent developments in GaN discussed at the IEEE Workshop on Wide Bandgap Power Devices and Applications (WiPDA) held Dec. 4–6, 2023.
