This work presented an implementation of a wind energy conversion system using a direct matrix converter-permanent magnet synchronous generator topology. When using the singular value decomposition modulation strategy in the power converter, properly controlled power is transferred from the generator to the power grid utilizing a maximum power point tracking strategy.
